Woven into the fabric of Multicultural Gallup are influences from every continent of the globe. The character of Gallup has been greatly influenced by Asians, Europeans, and Africans and others settling here in Native America.

Events of Heritage Day, 2004, 2005 - Report
The Gallup Multicultural Festival is an year long celebration culminating each year in a Festival of Cultures presenting traditional songs, dances, foods, and arts of the many ethnic and identity groups and heritages represented in the city and greater community of Gallup. In preparation for the event, schools, churches, and other organized groups conduct research, build displays, prepare presentations, write articles, etc. To have a space (exhibit), each heritage group, performer, or vendor should complete the application:

Fry Bread and Chili cook-off

$10 individual competition and $5 for each additional category

What this means is it costs $10 to compete in red chili category for example and if you want to do green chili as well it costs an extra $5 and fry-bread will be in extra $5. So if you want to do all 3 as an INDIVIDUAL it is $20 total.

$100 restaurants competition as a flat fee

$5 tasting fee to visitors, Kids games available for free
